The Niederösterreichische Kreativakademie is an extracurricular educational initiative of the state of Lower Austria , which aims to promote young people in a decentralized manner throughout the state. It is organized as a project of a non-profit company with limited liability based in Atzenbrugg .

structure

From the pilot locations of the Lower Austrian Painting Academy founded in the 2003/04 school year, the Lower Austrian Creative Academy emerged in 2007 as a network promoting creativity . With 78 academies at 36 locations, this creative network is tightly knit and with ten artistic fields for 12 to 19 year olds and three segments for 6 to 11 year olds the offer is also broad. Every year 1,200 young people develop their creative talents in the creative academy.

With a constant expansion of the locations and offers, the creative academy has meanwhile become an essential part of the Lower Austrian educational landscape. The supporting organization NÖ KREATIV was organized in an association structure from 2007 and in 2011 it was embedded in the Lower Austrian State Academy . On January 1, 2014, NÖ KREATIV GmbH started its activity as a newly founded 100 percent subsidiary of the Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich . The NÖ Kreativ  GmbH is a company whose activities are not geared towards making a profit, but towards fulfilling a non-profit cultural and scientific purpose.

Professional artists such as Gerhard Ruiss , Werner Auer , Leopold Kogler , Gerhard Kaiser , Richard Maynau or Christoph Dostal accompany the young people in the Lower Austrian educational institution in their creative work.

Lower Austrian Academy for Talented Students

The Niederösterreichische Begabtenakademie is an initiative launched in 2007 by the state of Lower Austria and part of the creative academy. The aim of the extracurricular educational project is to create a talent-friendly climate in Lower Austria.

Since it was founded in 2007, around 20,000 registrations have been received for approx. 3,600 courses in the five educational regions of Lower Austria. The Talent Academy offers talent development opportunities in the areas of literature, philosophy, art, foreign languages, history, society, nature, technology, logic and mathematics. The focus #DigitaleWelt started in 2015 - since then, digital skills have been taught and promoted in over a third of the talent promotion programs.

Music and Art School Lower Austria

Since 2015, the cooperation between the Niederösterreichische Kreativakademie and the music schools of Lower Austria has been promoted at three pilot locations under the title of Lower Austria Music and Art School . In St. Pölten, Waidhofen / Ybbs and Wiener Neustadt, the existing musical range of the music schools is being expanded with the creative range of the creative academy.

Publications: retrospective

The Niederösterreichische Kreativakademie publishes the best works of a year in the Werkschau series. In 2015, the eleventh volume of the photo exhibition of the Lower Austria Malakademie, the ninth volume of the text exhibition of the Lower Austria Writing Academy and the first volume of the photo exhibition of the Lower Austria Photo Academy were published.

The young journalists of the Lower Austrian Journalism Academy produce an annual graduation newspaper. In 2015 this newspaper with the title Kreativ, Kreativer , Kreativakademie was added to the Niederösterreichische Nachrichten with a circulation of 226,800 copies.

In 2019 the budget was canceled by the Lower Austrian provincial government, so that plans for new publications had to be canceled.
