The folk culture of Lower Austria GmbH is a nonprofit GmbH in the field of regional cultural work in the country Lower Austria .

history

In 1904 the Lower Austrian Folk Song Association was established to collect and document folk songs, folk music , folk dance , fairy tales , sagas and folk drama. The recorded material is part of the Lower Austrian folk song archive. In 1956 the association for regional cultural work was founded in Lower Austria . The aims of this association were the care, promotion and preservation of folk art and culture . In 1998 the non-profit Volkskultur Niederösterreich GmbH was founded with both associations as shareholders. In the following years additional tasks were added: Volkskultur Niederösterreich was entrusted with the financial and administrative processing of the granting of funds for the state of Lower Austria in the areas of music schools, folk culture, museums and collections and carried out the tasks such as advice and cultural mediation, the implementation of concerts, Festivals and other events, the issuing of publications and phonograms continue. In 2007, when the Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich was founded, tasks were transferred to this holding company or its subsidiaries.

Events

Volkskultur Niederösterreich is the largest organizer in the federal state of Lower Austria. It acts as the organizer of festivals such as the folk music festival aufhOHRchen or series of events such as sung and played with traditional folk music. The Kremser Fireside Chats invite experts from culture, business and politics to panel discussions. Radio broadcasts are broadcast weekly on Radio Niederösterreich.

The event operation is operationalized in Volkskultur Niederösterreich Veranstaltungen GmbH . This operates the trade in the Gallery of the Regions and the gastronomy at the Brandlhof Radlbrunn.

Folk culture europe
