Harald Froschauer

Harald Froschauer (* 1976 in Lower Austria ) is an Austrian Egyptologist , archaeologist and cultural manager . He is the commercial director of Volkskultur Niederösterreich GmbH.

Life

After graduating from the Stiftsgymnasium Melk in 1994, Harald Froschauer studied classical archeology , Egyptology and papyrology at the University of Vienna . The topic of his diploma and dissertation was early Christianity in Egypt. From 2002 to 2008 he was curator of the papyrus museum of the Austrian National Library and from 2006 deputy head of the papyrus collection there . In his role at the Papyrus Museum, he was responsible, among other things, for the preparation of the annual special exhibitions and educational programs. From 2004 to 2011 he was also a lecturer at the Institute for Classical Archeology at the University of Vienna. He took part in various archaeological excavations in Austria and Egypt.

From 2008, Harald Froschauer was head of the controlling department of Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich , the umbrella organization of cultural institutions in Lower Austria. In July 2013 he was appointed commercial director of Volkskultur Niederösterreich GmbH, a 100 percent subsidiary of Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich.
