Brandon Dennard Pettigrew (* 23. February 1985 in Tyler , Texas ) is an American American football poker players on the position of tight ends . He played for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Pettigrew played for Oklahoma State University with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. It went into the draft in 2009, was considered the best tight end there and it was considered the first round pick by the experts. In his senior season, Pettigrew caught 42 balls for 472 yards . However, he did not score a touchdown that season .

NFL

Pettigrew was selected 20th by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the NFL Draft . He was supposed to support the quarterback Matthew Stafford, drafted in the same year, in the passing game and to stimulate the game of offense . On November 22nd in the game against the Cleveland Browns , Pettigrew caught the decisive touchdown to win when the clock was up and on the last play. On November 26th in the traditional Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers , Pettigrew seriously injured his knee and was put on the Injured Reserve List on December 1st and was thus out the rest of the season. Pettigrew started in all eleven games before his injury and performed well in a completely restructured Lions team. He is both a sure ball catcher and can run many yards, but also as a blocker on running plays, Pettigrew makes decisive blocks. Pettigrew is characterized by a good physical condition and despite his 120 kilograms is a fast runner. He was released by the Detroit Lions on December 12, 2016.
