The Fire Protection Service (BsDi) is a specialist service that deals with fire fighting and prevention in the context of civil and disaster protection . The fire protection service is based at the fire services .

history

According to the federal government's strength and equipment certification (STAN), which has since been withdrawn , the fire protection service was provided by fire protection trains, each made up of 25 emergency services. They therefore differed from today's fire engines according to the fire service regulations . As a rule, this specialist service includes vehicles specially procured by the federal government and the states that are made available to the municipalities. Conversely, the municipalities make the necessary staff available.

The fire fighting train extinguishing and rescuing (LZ-R) comprised a train troop (with a train troop vehicle and a Melderkrad), two fire fighting groups each on a fire fighting vehicle 16 with a portable pump (LF 16-TS) as well as a rescue team manning a RW 1 . The extinguishing train extinguishing and water supply (LZ-W) consisted of a train troop (with a train troop vehicle and a Melderkrad), two fire fighting groups on each LF 16-TS and a water supply troop, which manned a water supply troop vehicle (WTrKW).

Instead of the vehicles mentioned, other vehicles ( e.g. LF 8 , tank fire engines , hose trucks or portable fire pumps ) were allowed to be used under certain conditions .
