Branka Moser

Branka Moser , née Babić (born February 14, 1951 in the SR Croatia , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian painter , sculptor and restorer .

Artistic creation

In 1997 she received the first prize of the Academy of Europe in Naples for her portrait of Cardinal Franjo Kuharić . In 1998 she received a second prize for a portrait of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She has done restorations and stained glass in various churches in Croatia. Nothing in this artistic background pointed to the surrealist quality that is unmistakable in her most recent works in terms of color scheme and picture division. Mainly ocher and blue are used specifically. «I implement inner, personal emotions. The subject is much more important to me than the color, ”she emphasizes.

Branka Moser has lived and worked in Switzerland since 2001 .

Awards

Grand prizes of the Accademia d'Europa, Antologia d'Arte e Cultura Europea, Naples:

  • 1995: 5th place for avant-garde (picture, Santa Trinita)
  • 1996: 3rd place for surrealism (picture, Forma Di Vita)
  • 1997: 1st place for classic portrait (picture, Cardinal Kuharic)
  • 1998: 2nd place for classic portrait (picture, Mother Theresa)
