The Branson nunatak is a nunatak in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Framnes Mountains it rises between Mount Burnett and Price Nunatak .
Norwegian cartographers, who named it as Horntind (Norwegian for Hornspitze ), mapped it using aerial photos taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) renamed it after the geophysicist John C. Branson, who worked at Mawson Station in 1962 .
