The Brasserie Fischer was an Alsatian brewery with headquarters in Schiltigheim .

history

The Fischer brewery was founded in 1821 by Jean Fischer as the L'Ours Blanc (The White Bear) brewery on Rue du Jeu-des-Enfants in Strasbourg. In 1838 it was renamed Brasserie Fischer . Since 1912 it had its own malt house so that it could cover the entire production chain. Brasserie Fischer has been part of the Heineken Group since 1996 . After the Heineken Brewery Schiltigheim, Fischer was now Heineken France's second production facility in the city. Heineken closed the brewery in 2009. The types of beer that still exist today are brewed in the Heineken brewery in Schiltigheim. The premises of the Fischer brewery will be converted into a residential and business district from 2016 to 2017.
