The Hackert Brewery was a brewery in Westerholt , today Herten . It existed until 1971. The brewery mainly produced a top-fermented beer , which is rather untypical for the Ruhr area . the Hackert-Bräu was an Altbier . The program also included pils , export beer , bock beer and malt beer . One of the company's advertising slogans was “Hackert beers, known far and wide for their digestibility.” Hackert was established as a branch in 1904 from the company of the same name in Wanne. First ice and schnapps were produced, and the Altbier brewery was established in 1933. The brewery was one of the most important employers in Westerholt. The building with its brewery tower was demolished in 1972.
