The Ritter St. Georg brewery is a brewery in Nennslingen in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . It was originally located at number 43, from 1883 at number 74, today's Marktplatz 1.

history

In 1654 the brewer Georg Engelhardt founded the brewery. It was taken over by Michael Korner in 1678 and Michael Engelhardt in 1704. In 1726 the master brewer Johann Wilhelm Satzinger from Pappenheim bought the company. In 1748 he was taken over by a Michael driver and introduced the name Wirt zum Ritter St. Georg . From 1767 his son Friedrich took over the brewery, in 1778 he sold it to Johann Daniel Gloßner. His son, who was also called Johann Daniel, took over the brewery in 1799. Daniel succeeded him in 1836, his son was also called Daniel and took over in 1866. Georg Michael was in charge from 1898 and Johann Michael Gloßner from 1940. Today Karl Gloßner runs the business. The brewery has been in the hands of the Gloßners for over 230 years.

The summer cellar

A summer cellar had existed since at least 1778. It was abandoned during the First World War .
