Brake row
Braking rows are defined braking conditions on Swiss railways and, together with the train row, determine the maximum speed of a train. This is dependent on the existing pre-signal distance and the inclination of the track and is used by the infrastructure company in the route tables disclosed.
In forming a coating is by the brake bill from the brake weight of the train (train weight) and the ground, first the braking ratio calculated as follows:
The brake series is then determined from the braking ratio using the table below. It must be taken into account that the brake row is also dependent on the train row. The highest possible brake row of a train with train row A is therefore A115%.
Train row | Brake series in percent | |||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Row of trains N | 180 | 150 | ||||||||||||
Row of trains R | 180 | 150 | 135 | 125 | 115 | 105 | ||||||||
Row A | 115 | 105 | 95 | 85 | 80 | 75 | 70 | 65 | 60 | 50 | ||||
Row D | 115 | 105 | 95 | 85 | 80 | 75 | 70 | 65 | 60 | 50 |
If the value of a brake series is not reached, the next lower value must be used. For example, a braking ratio of 89% results in brake series A85% or D85%. The train series R is no longer an option for this train.
