Brenda Fowler
Brenda Fowler (born February 16, 1883 in Jamestown , New York - † October 27, 1942 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress.
Life
The 1.70 meter tall actress had a long theater career and made a few films in the silent film era. Between 1934 and 1941 Fowler took part in over thirty films, mostly in minor supporting roles as a strict nurse or nasty wife. In the western classic Stagecoach (1939) by John Ford , she played the role of Mrs. Gatewood, wife of the fraudulent banker and at the same time the spokesman for the League of Virtue and Morals . As early as 1934 she had played under Ford's direction in the comedy Judge Priest , where she also played a slightly snooty lady from better company. Fowler also made small appearances in popular Hollywood films like Frankenstein's Bride , A Butler in America, and Hell, Where's Your Victory? . Her film career ended in 1941, a year before her death.
She was married to John W. Sherman, with whom she had a daughter, Jacqueline.
