The Elmendorf distillery was a distillery in the Gütersloh district of Isselhorst . Grain was burned here from 1689 to 2001 .

With the abolition of the spirits monopoly , the basis for continued operation of the traditional grain distillery was no longer given, so it had to be closed. The castle-like building ensemble was built between 1760 and 1903. The site has been owned by the Elmendorf family since the 18th century.

After many years of planning, the area was sold to the eyewear manufacturer Markus T, who moves his factory there. The large Elmendörfer barrel from 1902 can now be viewed on the Isselhorster church square. The hand-carved, richly decorated oak barrel has a volume of 20,000 liters and was exhibited at various international trade exhibitions in the early 20th century.

The grain distillery moved to Hamburg after the shutdown in Isselhorst. The tradition of grain is now being cultivated there by hand, with only organic products being produced.

The Elmendorf Korn has received several awards for its high quality in its long history. For example at the World Exhibition in Chicago in 1893 or at the Craft Spirit Festival in Berlin in 2016. The grain factory in Hamburg can also be visited by arrangement.
