Brett Gladman

Brett James Gladman (born April 19, 1966 in Wetaskiwin , Alberta ) is Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver , Canada .

Gladman discovered numerous faint celestial bodies in the solar system or was involved in their discovery, including several small Jupiter moons and the Uranus moons Caliban and Sycorax . From 2008 to 2011 he was a member and chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii .

Awards

In 2002 Gladman received the Harold C. Urey Prize . The asteroid (7638) Gladman = 1984 UX was named in his honor .
