Brian Oddie
Brian Oddie ( Brian Cecil Vernon Oddie; born May 16, 1905 in Luton , † August 7, 1996 in Bracknell ) was a British long-distance runner and meteorologist .
At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 he was ninth over 5000 m and at the British Empire Games 1930 in Hamilton for England he was sixth over three miles .
He studied physics at Queen Mary College, London . In 1926 he entered the service of the Meteorological Office, of which he was vice director from 1959 to 1966.
