Bridgeville is a small American village in Humboldt County in northern California . The place has 25 inhabitants. Bridgeville has a size of approx. 33 hectares, was formerly a station for a local carriage line and a stop for the Pony Express . There are currently eight houses, a functioning post office and a coffee house. The city is 12 miles north-northeast of Weott. The post office rejected that name because of another town in Bridgeport, the Bridgeville post office opened in 1877. Robinsons Ferry was named in honor of William Slaughter Robinson, a local rancher.

The original name was Robinsons Ferry but it was renamed Bridgeport when a bridge was built across the Van Duzen River in 1875.

Bridgeville hit the media when it was about to go on sale on eBay in 2002 . A new sale listing was sold on eBay in 2006 at a price of $ 1.25 million. However, 25-year-old event manager and college student Daniel Thomas La Paille committed suicide in November of that year.

In April 2007 there was another auction on ebay, the starting price was set at 1.75 million US dollars, but the sale was not completed even after 3 months.

Bridgeville is the seat of the Bridgeville Elementary School District , and home of the Bridgeville School.

The Van Duzen River flows through Bridgeville.
