Brigitte Eckstein

Brigitte Eckstein (born October 31, 1926 in Berlin , † December 3, 2007 in Aachen ) was a German physicist, university didactic specialist and individual psychological consultant.

Brigitte Eckstein studied physics at the Humboldt University in 1946 , where she also received her doctorate in 1960 . As a West Berlin native who, after completing her doctorate, worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Physical Chemistry of the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin-Adlershof, she no longer wanted to work in East Berlin after the construction of the Wall and moved to RWTH Aachen University . Initially assistant at the Institute for Mineralogy and Depository Studies , she qualified as a professor in 1965 in the subject of crystal physics. 1970 adjunct professor, in 1971 she became a scientific adviser and professor. In 1987 her position was converted to that of a university professor. After her retirement in 1992, she increasingly turned to the occupation with university didactics and individual psychology , a direction of psychoanalysis according to Alfred Adler . She trained as an individual psychological consultant, ran a practice in Aachen and led therapeutic group seminars.
