Brigitte Hofmeyer (* 3. November 1961 in Carlsdorf ) is a German politician of the SPD and former Member of the Hesse state parliament .

Profession and Party

The trained administrative clerk was employed by the city council of Hofgeismar for 10 years and then worked for another 10 years as a management assistant in an architecture office in Kassel.

Hofmeyer has been a member of the SPD since 1987. In the same year she founded the Juso AG Hofgeismar, became a member of the local association board of Hofgeismar and in the Juso sub-district Kassel-Land.

In the spring of 1992 she moved to the local SPD association Oberweser-Gieselwerder and became a member of the Gieselwerder OV board in 1993.

From 1993 to 1997 she was community representative in Oberweser, and since 1993 she has been chairwoman of the SPD sub-district Hofgeismar (former Hofgeismar district ).

Hofmeyer has been a member of the Kassel district council since 1994, and has been deputy chairwoman of the SPD district parliamentary group since 2006. From 2007 to 2011 she was chairwoman of the Committee on Economic and Structural Policy, Construction and Transport.

In 1998 she was elected as Rolf Karwecki's deputy in the Hessian state parliament.

Since September 1, 2001, Hofmeyer has been a member of the Hessian state parliament as the successor to Rolf Karwecki. Initially elected on the party list, she could in the state elections in 2008 , 2009 and 2013 the constituency Land of Kassel I win.

From 2001 to 2003 she worked for the SPD parliamentary group in the petitions and home affairs committee.

Since 2003 she has been deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Hessian state parliament and from 2003 to 2009 she was spokeswoman for fire protection policy for the SPD parliamentary group, member of the interior committee, member of the state modernization working group, deputy member of the state personnel commission, deputy member of the administrative committee at the Staatstheater Kassel and member of the Circle "Friends of Sports".

From 2005 to 2007 Hofmeyer was a deputy member of the hardship commission and member of the UNA 16/2 investigative committee into the corruption scandal in the Hessian Presidium for Technology, Logistics and Administration (PTLV) .

In 2008 and 2009 Hofmeyer was a member of the main committee, deputy chair of the main committee working group and deputy chair of the internal committee.

Hofmeyer has been a member of the cultural policy committee and the legal and integration committee of the Hessian state parliament since 2009. To state election in 2018 it did not occur more and therefore resigned from the Parliament of.
