Brigitte Litfin

Brigitte Litfin b. Ballhaus (born April 25, 1954 in Hildesheim ; † April 24, 2006 ibid) was a German politician ( Alliance 90 / The Greens ).

Job and family

After attending the Catholic elementary school in Hildesheim- Drispenstedt, Litfin trained as a legal clerk and then worked at the Hildesheim District Court. Until 1994 she was an honorary judge at the Higher Administrative Court (OVG) in Lüneburg . Brigitte Litfin, who lived in Hildesheim, was divorced and the mother of two children.

Litfin had been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1985; from 1990 to 1994 she was Hildesheim district manager. Since 1986 she was a council member in Hildesheim and from 1991 to 1994 chairwoman of the finance committee, also chairwoman of the parliamentary group Greens / Free Women's List.

In 1994 Litfin became a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in the 13th electoral term . From 1996 until she left Parliament in 2003, she was Vice President of the State Parliament.

Litfin was involved in Aids aid in Lower Saxony as well as for disabled children and young people. She was also very active in educational policy.
