The Brisbane Point is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia . On the south bank of Royal Bay , it marks the western boundary of the entrance to Beaufoy Cove . The headland is the site of a breeding colony of king penguins .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it 2002. It is named after the British Antarctic explorer Matthew Brisbane (1787-1833), the James Weddell on the sealers Beaufoy had accompanied in 1823 by Georgia and 1829 ibid with the sealers Hope havariert was.
