The Britten Ice Shelf is an ice shelf in the southwest of Alexander I Island, west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located on the south bank of the Monteverdi Peninsula in Britten Inlet . Its edge at the Ronne Entrance is known as the Britten Ice Front .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on December 8, 1977 in connection with the bay of the same name after the British composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976).
