Brocas Helm is an epic metal band from San Francisco , California .

Band history

Broca's Helm was founded in 1982 by Bobbie Wright, James Schumacher, Jack Hays and John Gray. In 1983 the band released their first demo. In 1984 she was signed by First Strike for the US and Steamhammer for Europe . In the same year she released her first album Into Battle . After various differences of opinion (for example, the cover of Into Battle was determined without the band's consent) Broca's Helm terminated the contracts with the record companies by mutual agreement, although they would actually have been obliged to create another album.

Since Broca's helmet couldn't find a label that met their expectations even after a long search, the band founded their own. During five years of work in her "Caverns of Thunder" studio, the album Black Death was created with Tom Benhey on guitar. Mainly to get a record deal with the aim of making a high quality CD, Broca's Helm recorded the Helm's Deep demo. However, the band still couldn't find a record company that suited their needs. She released the album Ghost Story in 1994 as well as the singles Time of the Dark in 1997 and Blood Machine / Skullfucker in 2000 under independent production. In 2003 Brocas Helm came under the label of Eat Metal Records, which in 2004 released their live album Black Death in Athens , as well as the other two albums unabridged with bonus songs and a new presentation. Also in 2004, the band recorded the album Defender of the Crown and released it again under their own distribution.

Her songs Cry of the Banshee and Drink the Blood of the Priest are included in the song selection of the video game Brütal Legend .

Band name

The band name Broca's helmet comes from a piece of armor that is in the Tower of London . The reason for this decision is: " It was fitting for us to use as a symbol, as we fought against the common trends of music. We surged into battle with our songs as our weapons, our fans as our blood, the force of right In our veins. And we continue to do so. "(translated:" It was appropriate for us to use a symbol that suited our fight against the normal music trends. We went into battle with our songs as weapons, our fans as our blood and the power of righteousness in our veins. And we continue to do so. ")
