Brodick is a village in Scotland on the Isle of Arran . It is the second largest town on the island with 848 inhabitants and is part of the North Ayrshire Council Area .
Location and traffic
Brodick is on the Firth of Clyde on the east side of Arran. The village is the central point of contact for tourists and transports to and from the island. Brodick has the island's central ferry terminal. Buses run from the port. A ring road runs on the island, on which buses are used in both directions in the ring traffic. A second ferry port is in Lochranza , so you can cross the island.
Infrastructure
There are many retail stores in Brodick. There is a local museum and an indoor swimming pool. Since February 2010 there is a beach promenade from the ferry port to the end of the village. Brodick Castle , a golf course and Goat Fell Mountain are nearby .
To the north of the village, right on the edge of Shore Road, next to a parking lot, the 2.4 m high Stronach Standing Stone , a menhir .
