history

inner space

Blessed Bronisława founded a hermitage for Sikornik in the 13th century . The chapel was built in 1702 in place of the hermitage in the Baroque style. Between 1758 and 1759 it was expanded and Andrzej Radwański created paintings from the lives of the blessed for the chapel. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Kościuszko hill was raised near the chapel . When the Habsburgs built Fort 2 Kościuszko of the Kraków Fortress around Kościuszko Hill , they demolished the baroque chapel in 1854. The new neo-Gothic chapel was built in 1856 as part of the fort by Feliks Księżarski . The new altarpiece was created in 1860 and the chapel was consecrated in 1861.
