history

About his father, who ran Bron Artists Ltd. ran, Gerry Bron came in contact with Gene Pitney and took over his management. He joined his father's company, which signed other artists such as Manfred Mann and Uriah Heep . In 1971, Bron founded Bronze Records in order to be able to handle the releases of the bands he managed himself. The idea for the name comes from the then Uriah Heep drummer Ian Clarke. Bron, who gained music production experience while working for Vertigo Records , signed other bands and released albums from bands such as Osibisa , Hawkwind , Girlschool and Motörhead in the 1970s with considerable commercial success . After several important bands left the label around 1983, including Uriah Heep, Motörhead and Girlschool, the label ran into financial difficulties due to falling sales. For this reason, in 1986 all rights to the label catalog were sold to Castle Communications . The label has been active again since the early 2000s, the current status is not known.
