The Brooksee is located in the Brooksee nature reserve south of the Brookhusen district of the Benitz municipality in the Rostock district . The lake has a north-south extension of about 700 meters and a west-east extension of about 130 meters. The southern area of the lake, which is surrounded by arable land, is peaty and overgrown with reeds like the northern bank . South of Brooksee is the smaller Black Lake , which forms the inlet to Brooksee via a ditch. The connecting road from the L13 to Benitz runs between Brooksee and Schwarzer See.
