Broque.de is a label for electronic music based in Bad Wiessee .
history
The label was founded in 2004 by Tend (Christian Kausch) and Granlab (Heiko Schwanz) as a non-profit project.
concept
The label mainly acts as a so-called net label and sells its music through free downloads from its own website, as well as via various other download platforms, some of which are subject to a fee. Between 2005 and 2008 there was also its own vinyl series with 14 releases, each with hand-sprayed covers, distributed by Kompakt and deejay.de. The idea for the label came from the CD compilation “10 years or on bread”, which is also the first release. "Or auf Brot" was a techno fanzine published in Thuringia and distributed free of charge , under whose name some DJs , producers, flyer makers and other artists had loosely banded together to organize events. This was the basis of the artist community that exists today, from which some well-known names beyond the net label area have emerged. Musically, the label moves relatively freely between house and techno with excursions to ambient , dub and experiments.
Broque was by the readers of DeBug elected several times magazine, in the year-charts, as well as the. Aroma - EP by Paul Brtschitsch & Cio D'Or (broque-LP015) by the readers of the magazine Groove in 2009 to 13th place.
