The Brown Lagoon is a lagoon in the northeast of Heard Island in the southern Indian Ocean . It is located at the mouth of the Brown Glacier and south of Fairchild Beach .
The lagoon was created as a result of the retreat of the Brown Glacier, after which it is named. This is the Australian biologist K. G. Brown, who worked on Heard in 1951 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
