description

Brownville was built in 1878. Mediterranean and Greek influences flowed into the architecture of the villa, as can be found in buildings by Alexander Thomson . The two-story main building has a square floor plan and consists of gray ashlar stone in layers of masonry . Two horizontal, white decorative strips frame the facade surfaces, while white corner stones were installed on the building edges . The front is constructed asymmetrically. The ornate and crowned entrance door with a skylight is offset to the right. As on the upper floor, there are two single windows with fins on the left , while twin windows are installed on the right. The opposite facade has three window axes with a centrally arranged door. The south side has two axes with wide windows, one of which protrudes and extends over both floors. The window on the upper floor is equipped with a cast iron balustrade . A belvedere sits on the upper floor and ends with a flattened, slate-covered pyramid roof . A utility wing with a coach house is attached to the main building . These parts of the building have hip roofs .
