Bruce David Hales (born March 13, 1953 in Sydney , Australia ) is an Australian businessman and since 2002 leader of the Raven Brothers (now Plymouth Brethren Christian Church ).

Life

Bruce D. Hales is the third son of John Stephen Hales , who ran the Raven brothers from 1987 to 2002. He is married to Jenny Greene and owns an office supply store .

Bruce Hales was unofficially appointed as his successor during his father's lifetime; in the last years of his father's life he acted as a kind of secretary. A few weeks after the death of John Hales, Bruce was widely recognized by the Raven brothers as the new "Man of God".

In addition to the continuation of various endeavors of his father - z. B. the establishment of private schools - Bruce Hales introduced a number of innovations. So he started an initiative called "The Review" to systematically visit former parishioners in order to win them back for the Raven brothers. He also called for a reduction in the size of the community to a maximum of 200 people; larger communities had to split up into several groups. The biggest change brought about by Bruce Hales lies in the abandonment of political abstinence: Even if the Raven brothers still do not vote, they supported conservative candidates with considerable funds and leaflets in several elections in Australia , New Zealand and the USA .

As with his predecessors, all of Bruce Hales' lectures and conferences are recorded, transcribed and published in a number of books.
