Bruce Rock is located in the Western Australian "wheat belt" about 220 kilometers east of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the village of Bruce Rock, where about 530 inhabitants live (2016).

The Bruce Rock Council has eleven members. They are elected by all residents of the Shire. Bruce Rock is not divided into districts. The Council Chairman and President des Shires are also recruited from among the Councilor.
