Bruna Surfistinha (real name Raquel Pacheco , born October 28, 1984 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian prostitute and bestselling author.

Life

The publication of her weblog , in which she freely described her experiences with suitors , secured her the attention of the Brazilian mass media.

Pacheco grew up as an adopted child with a family belonging to the Brazilian upper class . Family problems led her to prostitute herself at the age of 17. Her descriptions in her bestseller O Doce Veneno do Escorpião ( The Sweet Poison of the Scorpion ) and on her blog show the prostitution into which many Brazilian youths are forced out of poverty from a very positive side. Her books have made Bruna Surfistinha very popular in Brazil.

With the proceeds from the sale of her bestseller, Bruna Surfistinha was able to withdraw from prostitution. She uses her blog as a diary in which she records her experiences as a celebrity.

Her book was filmed in the 2011 Brazilian film Bruna Surfergirl - Story of a Sex Blogger ( Bruna Surfistinha - O Doce Veneno do Escorpião ), directed by Marcus Baldini .
