Brunhilde Plank

Brunhilde Plank (born March 3, 1956 in Rottenmann ; † July 31, 2001 in Greenland ) was an Austrian AHS teacher and politician ( SPÖ ). Between 1999 and 2001, Plank was a member of the Austrian National Council . Plank had a fatal accident in 2001 when she crashed on a trekking tour in Greenland.

education and profession

Plank attended elementary school in Ardning between 1962 and 1966 and the secondary school in Liezen from 1966 to 1970 . She then moved to the Federal Commercial Academy in Liezen, where she passed her Matura in 1975. From 1976 Plank studied to be a teacher for German and French at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz and graduated in 1983 with the academic degree Mag. Phil. from.

Plank was employed as a secretary from 1975 to 1976 and was a teacher at a general secondary school between 1984 and 2001. In 1992 she was given the professional title of Professor .

politics

Plank was a councilor in Irdning between 1996 and 2001. She also held the function of district women chairwoman of the SPÖ in the Liezen district and was the local party chairwoman of the SPÖ Irdning.

Plank was a member of the National Council between October 29, 1999 and July 31, 2001. She was the disability spokeswoman for the SPÖ parliamentary club and was considered one of the SPÖ's hopes.

Private

Plank was the mother of a daughter and a son.
