The fountain on the Forstmeisterplatz (also: Brunnebütt and Brunnebitt ) is a fountain in Darmstadt-Bessungen .
History and description
The fountain was probably set up at the Forstmeisterplatz in 1825 . The fountain is made of red sandstone and has a large, elongated, trough-like basin and a sandstone column . The fountain system was carved in classic forms. A wrought-iron lantern stands on the fountain column . The fountain served as a water dispenser and cattle trough .

The Bessunger Brunnebüttfest or Brunnebittfest was named after the fountain .

For architectural and city history reasons, the fountain is a cultural monument .
