Fountain at the Ducal Palace
The fountain at the Herzogschloss in Straubing was created in the 18th century and is a listed building. It stands on the square in front of the former ducal palace between the buildings Schlossplatz 1 , Schlossplatz 2 and Schlossplatz 4 .
history
The running fountain probably dates from the 18th century and used to stand on the town square. The city model from 1568 already showed a fountain at the current location. In 1851 a "barracks well" is mentioned here, belonging to the barracks housed in the castle. A renovation began in September 2017, which cost 100,000 euros and was concluded with a ceremony in September 2018.
description
