Lui Lai Yiu (born November 30, 1994 in Hong Kong ) is a hurdler from Hong Kong.

Athletic career

Lui Lai Yiu gained her first international experience at the 2010 Asian Junior Championships in Hanoi , where she finished sixth in 17.31 s. Two years later she won the bronze medal at the Junior Asian Championships in Colombo in 14.59 s and in 2013 she was fifth at the East Asian Games in Tianjin . In 2014 she took part in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea for the first time , retired in the hurdles sprint with 13.99 s in the first round and reached eighth place in the Hong Kong 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.14 s. In 2015 she was eliminated in the preliminary round at both the Asian Championships in Wuhan and the Summer Universiade in Gwangju . In 2016 she took part in the 60 meter hurdles at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha and was disqualified there in the preliminary run.

In 2017 she again took part in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , where she finished seventh in 13.89 s. At the Summer Universiade in Taipei , she made it to the semifinals. At the beginning of September she won the gold medal at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat with a new best of 8.41 w in front of the Thai Suchada Meesri . In 2018 she again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where she won the bronze medal in 13.42 m. The following year she finished fourth at the Asian Championships in Doha with a new national record of 13.32 seconds.

In 2017 and 2018 Lui became Hong Kong champion in the 100 meter hurdles. She graduated from the Hong Kong Chinese University with a degree in Business Management .
