Bruno Bischoff

Bruno Bischoff (born July 31, 1855 in Pilsen , † December 17, 1911 in Prague ) was a German-Bohemian historian and art historian .

Life

Bruno Bischoff, son of the mine and smelter owner Otto Bischoff (1818–1871), graduated from the commercial academy in Prague and attended lectures there at the university. He lived as a privateer in Prague and published in the field of medieval art history of Bohemia . He was involved in the Association for the History of Germans in Bohemia and was the administrator of its art collections. For volumes 2 to 8 of the General Lexicon of Fine Artists from Antiquity to the Present , he wrote articles on Bohemian artists.

He was buried in the Olšany cemetery.
