Bruno Boschung

Bruno Boschung (born February 22, 1963 in Wünnewil ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ). In 2017 he was President of the Grand Council of the Canton of Friborg. He was a candidate for the National Council in 2019 .

Life

After compulsory schooling, he completed an apprenticeship as a businessman at Berner Versicherung, now Allianz SE . He has been married to Elisabeth Bielmann since 1988. The marriage produced three sons.

Boschung has been working as a general agent for Basler Insurance for the German Friborg region since 2008 . He is President of the School Commission of the St. Michael College and sits on the Executive Council of the Catholic body of the canton of Friborg.

Boschung joined the CVP in 1995. From 2006 to 2012 he presided over the district party CVP Sense. In 2001 he ran unsuccessfully for the Grand Council for the first time . In 2004 Boschung slipped to the vacant list position. He was then re-elected in 2006, 2011 and 2016. In 2011 he was also elected as General Councilor of the Wünnewil-Flamatt community . In 2016 he was Vice President of the Grand Council of the Canton of Friborg , and since 2017 he has been President of the Grand Council .

Boschung is running for the 2019 National Council election.
