Bruno Kassel

Bruno Kassel (born September 4, 1954 in Cologne ) is a German music journalist.

During his school days at the age of nine, he was the victim of the flamethrower attack on the elementary school in Cologne-Volkhoven on June 11, 1964 , in which a gunman killed eight children and two teachers before he himself died of ingested plant poison. This flamethrower attack is one of the most spectacular events in Cologne's criminal history and aroused worldwide horror. Bruno Kassel suffered severe burns and spent about a year in hospital.

After completing an administrative training at the Rhineland Regional Council, he learned how to write and edit press releases as well as photography in the “ new rheinland ” editorial team , a magazine of the Rhineland Regional Council. In addition, Bruno Kassel played as a drummer in various beat, rock and pop groups, before he became a music journalist, wrote articles for national and international print media and photographed numerous national and international musicians (including for “ Musikexpress ”, “ Fachblatt Musikmagazin ”, “Sound Check "," Guitar & Bass "," Sticks "," Keyboards "," European Musician "," International Musician "," Stern "," Audio "," Stereoplay "," Rimshot "," Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger ") . As a book author, Bruno Kassel wrote the paperback books "The 500 best musicians 'jokes" and "The Best Musicians' Jokes". From 2003 to 2017 he worked in the music department of WDR 4 in Cologne.

Bruno Kassel is married with one daughter and lives in Minden, Westphalia .
