David Bisbal (born June 5, 1979 in Almería ) is a Spanish singer . He was best known in 2001 as runner-up in the casting show Operación Triunfo , which was broadcast by the Spanish television station TVE at the time. He then appeared as the backing singer for Rosa at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 .

Act

Bisbal's first album Corazón Latino was a huge hit in his home country and Latin America. With the follow-up album Bulería (2004) he was able to confirm this success. It has sold over a million times in Spain alone.

In 2005 he tried to gain a foothold in German-speaking countries with a duet with Joana Zimmer . Let's Make History ( Petra Bonmassar / Martin Frainer / Ina Wolf) made it into the German and Swiss charts, but did not bring further solo attempts, a best-of album entitled David Bisbal and a new edition of his first Spanish hit Ave Maria the desired success. The Spanish-Belgian singer Belle Pérez re- recorded this song in the summer of 2006 and achieved a summer hit and thus great success in Belgium and the Netherlands .

In contrast, his success in Spain is unbroken, in 2006 his album Premonición went straight to number 1. This makes David Bisbal the most successful of all casting show candidates in Spain.

On June 22, 2007 the successful single Silencio by David Bisbal was released in Germany. After an appearance in Wetten dass ..? -Summer special from June 23, 2007, Silencio reached number 59 in the annual charts, but his album Premonición did not make it into the top 100.

The next single release was for Germany , Austria and Switzerland , a remake of his hit Ave Maria in 2002 announced. The single should appear under Ave Maria in 2008 and be accompanied by a number of promotional appearances. The single release was officially put on hold.

In January 2008 David Bisbal released his second live DVD Premonición Live with concert excerpts during the performance in Barcelona as part of his major 2007 world tour.

At the beginning of 2010 he recorded a Spanish-English version of the song Wavin 'Flag with the Somali singer K'naan for the 2010 soccer World Cup in South Africa . With this song they appeared on May 23, 2010 at Wetten, dass ..? in Palma on Mallorca .
