Bruno Marin

Bruno Marin OSB (* 1941 ) is an Italian Benedictine abbot . He was Abbot President of the Congregation of Subiaco from 2004 to 2016 .

Life

Marin made his profession in 1957 and was ordained a priest on April 11, 1962. From 1990 to 2004 he was abbot of Praglia Abbey in Teolo near Padua.

In September 2004 Bruno Marin OSB was elected Abbot President of the Congregation of Subiaco with his seat in the monastery of Sant'Ambrogio in Rome. In 2012 he was re-elected. Since the reunification of the Benedictine congregations of Subiaco and Montecassino , he was also head of the new Sub-Lazens-Cassinese congregation. On September 22, 2016, Guillermo Arboleda OSB became his successor.

In 2014 he was appointed by Pope Francis to be a member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life .
