Museum on the monastery island
The museum on the monastery island is a local history museum in Schleswig-Holstein that has existed since 1986 . It is located on Lindenplatz on the Bordesholm monastery island .
exhibition
The Bordesholm home collection shows written and pictorial documents from the past and present of the Bordesholm region and from the old Bordesholm office as well as textiles and utensils from household, agriculture and handicrafts. Every year six to eight special exhibitions with a focus on history, culture, folklore, agriculture, handicrafts and trade take place in the Bordesholm area.

The Heimatsammlung working group , which has existed since 1982, organized several exhibitions in the old district building before it was able to move into its first own exhibition space in the Alte Post building in 1986 .
Organizational matters
The museum is run by a museum association and is open Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Admission is free.
