Bruno Reudenbach

Bruno Reudenbach (* 1952 ) is a German art historian .

Life

He studied art history , archeology and philosophy in Cologne and Freiburg im Breisgau . After graduation at the University of Cologne , he was from 1978 to 1986 research assistant at the Collaborative Research Center Medieval Studies , University of Muenster . Since 1986 he has been a professor at the Art History Department of the University of Hamburg. Since 2006 he has been Scientific Director of the German Bible Archive and Associate of the International Center of Medieval Art (2010–13). Since 2012 he has been a member of the committee of the Medieval Working Group ofDuke August Library , Wolfenbüttel .

His focus is on research on late antiquity and the Middle Ages, in particular text-image problems, the representation of rulers, questions of theology and the history of piety, as well as architectural history and theory.
