Bruno Werner (athlete)

Bruno Werner (* 12. May 1956 in Neudorf ) is a retired German athlete who on the Sprint specialized.

He was third at the German Championships in 1978 over 100 meters and reached the finals over 200 meters three times from 1977 to 1979 , but where he did not get beyond seventh place. Werner achieved his greatest successes with the Kornwestheimer 4 x 100 meter relay , with which he became German champion in 40.12 seconds in 1979 ( Wolfgang Jäger , Dieter Gebhard , Bruno Werner, Peter Klein ). In the following year, the season (Bruno Werner, Dieter Gebhard, Bernd Sattler , Peter Klein) was able to repeat the title win in 39.49 s.

Werner set his personal best with 10.4 s in 1975 in Kornwestheim, until 1980 he was able to set it four times. His best time over 200 meters was 20.9 s, set in 1978 in Ludwigsburg. He started his career for TSV Neudorf, Salamander Kornwestheim and MTG Mannheim .
