Bryony Lavery

Bryony Lavery (born December 21, 1947 in Wakefield, Leicestershire , England ) is a British theater, television and radio writer who has also written various books.

Lavery began as an actress and then wrote his own plays, founded an acting company and a theater. She was married until the 1970s and has been committed to her lesbian disposition ever since. Her literary work is therefore mainly concerned with women. Her piece “More Light” from 1997, for example, has an almost exclusively female cast.

Laverys more than 20 plays for the theater, BBC television and radio programs earned her an honorary doctorate from de Montfort University in Leicester and nominations for the American Tony Award .
