Beech wood (Witten)

Buchenholz is a district ("statistical district") of Rüdinghausen in Germany . It bears the district number  53. On December 31, 2018, it had a total of 343 inhabitants. Beech wood is also the name of a forest area , the extent of which is de facto identical to that of the district.

Together with the "Herrenholz" forest area, beech wood forms a green corridor on one of the last foothills of the Ardey Mountains . In the district there are neither company settlements nor public institutions , only on the outskirts there is a weak residential development .

Several cycle paths and trails with different degrees of difficulty and lengths lead through the wooded area . The easily accessible forest paths are particularly useful for hiking .
