The bay of Tibar is located on the north coast of the island of Timor , which belongs to the Lesser Sunda Islands .
geography
The bay is located in the far east of the municipality of Liquiçá . The east end of the bay is Cape Ponta Açoilo . The River Rihlu flows into the mangrove swamp on the south bank .
economy
There are fish ponds in the bay. Sea salt is also extracted.
On June 14, 2017, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Dili cargo port in the Bay of Tibar took place.
