Budgie is a desktop environment that uses Gnome techniques such as GTK + (version> 3.x) and is developed by the Solus project and by collaborators from numerous communities such as Arch Linux , Manjaro Linux and Ubuntu Budgie . Budgie's design emphasizes simplicity and elegance.

Version 1.0 of Budgie was released on February 18, 2014. Ubuntu Budgie has been an official spin of Ubuntu with Budgie as desktop since Ubuntu 17.04 .
