successor Lightning CityX XB9SX

The Buell Lightning® XB9S is a Motorcycle category naked bike the Buell Motorcycle Company . Due to its technically radical structure and the overall look, it also comes very close to a classic street fighter .

General

The Lightning ® XB9S added from model year 2003, one year earlier with the Firebolt XB9R introduced new XB series. With the small windshield and the striking short rear frame, the design is strongly based on the previous models S1 Lightning and X1 Lightning .

The last copies of the Lightning ® XB9S were sold in mid-2004; the successor to the 2005 model year was the Lightning ® CityX XB9SX with motocross elements (handlebars, hand protectors, headlight grilles).

The technical data are almost identical to those of the Firebolt XB9R .

technology

In contrast to the 12 series models introduced in 2004, a slightly short-stroke 60 cubic inch engine works in the chassis . This gives the 9er XB better engine speed and a usable speed range that is approx. 1,000 rpm wider . Thus, the engine characteristics differ significantly from the long-stroke, 218 cm³ larger machine of the Lightning ® XB12S .
