Bugarama is a city in the western part of the African state of Rwanda .

location

Bugarama is located in the extreme southwest of Rwanda, near the border with Burundi in the east and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the west. Kigali , the capital of Rwanda, is about 250 kilometers northwest of Bugarama.

Bugarama is located on the RN6 trunk road, which is continued in Burundi as RN5 and there leads to Bujumbura , the largest city in Burundi.

Residents

With 24,679 inhabitants, Bugarama is the ninth largest city in Rwanda according to the 2012 census.
